If you’ve landed on this page it’s probably because you’re curious to know how someone could be so passionate about resin.
That’s cool. I would wonder the same thing if I were you.
My name is Katherine, and yes, I have a resin obsession.
So how does someone get obsessed with resin? And more importantly, how does that benefit you?
Well, let me tell you... In 2001, I started making metal jewelry. Next thing you know, a jewelry business was born. It grew pretty quickly... to the point where my spring and fall weekends were filled with festivals. The work was hard, but I couldn’t complain because business was good.
Fast forward five years.
The stock market was dropping and the housing market was falling apart. Investors started putting money into precious metals and silver prices quickly spiked. The same jewelry I had always made was now three to four times the price and was no longer affordable for my customers. It was evident that if my business was going to survive, I would need to find something else to use to make jewelry.
It was in that moment that my focus went from metal and stones to metal and resin. I decided to quit the art show circuit so I could tend to my family and start selling my resin jewelry wholesale.
This is the part of the story where fate and opportunity meet. In the fall of 2011, the creator of Resin Obsession was actively seeking someone to acquire the business. I just knew it was meant to be.
When I told my husband about how I was going to take over Resin Obsession, he looked at me like I was crazier than a sprayed cockroach. But, I did it anyway.
That’s where you come in...
Ever since, it’s become my mission to help you on your resin journey. My own rocky path inspired me to make sure other resin crafters did not feel like they were alone in this. Yeah, it’s a little cliché, but I’m here for you. REALLY! Anyone can sell you stuff. But not everyone can help you take that stuff and make magic happen.
If you spend any amount of time here, you will see I write a lot about resin. How to use it, mold it, troubleshoot it, craft it, sell it. I love to share articles on improving your techniques. It gives you the chance to learn from my mistakes.
Myself and some of my crafty resinistas (yes, it’s a word, just don’t look it up) share project ideas because who doesn’t need some inspiration every once in awhile. I also like to share pictures of what some of our awesome customers have made. I even moderate a resin forum where you can ask and answer questions.
Basically my resin knowledge becomes a tool you can use to your advantage. It’s all here for you!
Someone told me recently that Resin Obsession was the CNN of the resin world. I was speechless. I try to be very factual and accurately represent the products I talk about and sell. If it's not something I would use myself, I’m not going to expect you to either. Trying to talk you into using inferior products doesn’t do either of us any good.

And if you have been working with resin but don’t know how you ended up with a gooey mess, then this might help: https://www.resinobsession.com/tag/troubleshooting
Oh, and in case you are wondering if I really know what I’m talking about, then I’ll throw in here that I have a book on Amazon that was a bestseller for ebooks in the jewelry category. #DropTheMic (You can get your own copy here: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/books/products/resin-jewelry-making)
And you don’t have to take my word for it — read what a few of our customers have said about coming to resinobsession.com:
So what else I do I obsess about besides resin?
Well, there is the family that I love and adore. Hubs helps out from time to time and my kids are now old enough that they can help too. It also means so much that they can see their mom rock at being a small business owner, entrepreneur, and an artist.
I also obsess over my cats. It’s nothing I need therapy for – yet – but I’m happy to wear the crazy cat lady tag loud and proud.
